Welcome to the fascinating world of Irene Manson. A place where adorable yet slightly unsettling monsters are portrayed alongside random animals and everyday objects, exploring the intersection between the macabre and the charming. Do not fear the monsters that inhabit my canvases, they are there to remind you that darkness also has its charm.

Irene Manson, born in Viladecans, Barcelona (2000) and graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona (2018-2022), has leveraged her academic training to develop an artistic voice that delves into the contemporary artistic and cultural landscape, including the trash, underground, and alternative scenes. Inspiration from pop and cartoon aesthetics, as well as naive and expressionist influences, each artwork invites you to immerse yourself in a personal, fun, and mysterious universe. Notable brushstrokes, transparencies, imperfect lines, and childlike touch breathe life into curious creatures and compositions. At first glance, you will feel a strange connection with these unusual beings, as if they awaken contradictory emotions that attract and disturb you simultaneously, challenging you to confront your own shadows and embrace your vulnerability.
Transforming skateboards into unique art pieces. Through this process, skateboards move beyond their original function and become expressive artworks that combine movement, material, and personal expression.
My sculptural work brings the characters from my paintings into physical space through life-size sculptures. These figures are created using air-dry clay and polystyrene, materials that allow me to build expressive forms while maintaining a handmade, organic quality. Once shaped, the sculptures are painted with acrylics, preserving the visual language, colors, and emotions of my paintings. By translating two-dimensional characters into three-dimensional, full-scale forms, my work explores the boundary between painting and sculpture, inviting the viewer to encounter my characters as real, tangible presences.
